Ideally it was, but realistically, Kenny was sure there were dozens of flaws to it. "Thanks." He kind of had tunnel vision when it came to the world. Kenny saw what it could be if people just tried a little bit. "I'm guessing you stop and smell the proverbial flowers too?"

"Usually, I do. But then, I'm a little odd. I don't smell all the proverbial flowers, only the really nice ones - ones that I'm really fond of; the roses and birds of paradise of the proverbial flower kingdom" Astoria answered, "I feel that if we stop to smell every proverbial flower, we'd probably never be moving, really."

Kenny grinned through his chuckle. "Not too odd, I'd say." She had a preference, but who didn't? He got what Astoria was saying there was that issue but what Kenny would have been more worried about was loosing appreciation if all you did was smell the proverbial flowers. "I could think of worse fates though."

"I don't know, it would be terrible to still be at the mentality of a four year old, wouldn't it?" Astoria countered, gently running her finger along the cool glass of the clock, curious as to what the material was.

Kenny had to think about that, weigh the pros and cons. When he was four it had been all about finding answers. He's badgered his parents about every little thing. Why was the sky blue? What made the waves in the ocean? In some ways a lot of people were still like that. They wanted to know things. "To a point, yes. I like the age that I am now personally."

Astoria smiled, "I don't want to grow any older than I am now" She informed, because as far as she was concerned, nothing good would come of leaving Hogwarts. She'd be in danger, because of the war that was emerging, she would be betrothed, or rather 'engaged' as her parents preferred to term it, and she would be without the wealth of books that were present at Hogwarts.

"Sixteen does seem like a good age." Kenny added. "I guess that's why they call it sweet." They couldn't drink, legally, yet but that suited him fine considering he wasn't much for alcohol anyway. The only thing that wasn't perfect about it was that magic was restricted outside of school.

So they were the same age - that was good, a friend her own age. Besides that, he likely wasn't involved with her sister. "It is sweet, very much so. Enough responsibility that we're not bored, but not enough to be suffocating."

"Well put." Kenny complimented. Being a prefect he knew a thing or two about responsibility. It made him proud to know that he was part of something. If he couldn't be socially talented then at least he could be involved. "The energy is nice too. I'm sort of dreading getting too old to be able to do anything with myself but sit on the cough watching games shows and shouting out wrong answers cause I'm slowly becoming senile."

"Game shows?" Astoria asked, eyebrows furrowing. What was he on about, watching game shows. "Like Chess and Gobstones?"

"Um," Kenny hadn't really stopped to think that Astoria might not know what a game show was. "No, its where people either answer questions, solve word puzzles and riddles, or do ridiculous obstacle courses to win money for muggles entertainment. It's broadcasted over the television, which is like a radio with a recorded picture of what's happened along with the sound." He wasn't sure how well he had described it to her.

"Oh." Astoria frowned, puzzled. "Why don't muggles just read?" She asked, not understanding the appeal of whatever these things were. The radio she understood, but even that seemed rather silly to her.

"It can be entertaining." Games shows were Kenny's guilty TV pleasure. A liking brought on by spending a lot of time as a tike watching them with his grandmother.

Astoria nodded, but a question accompanied the action, and she looked away from the clock and at Kenny again, "Why wouldn't you want to spend your senior days watching them, then?

His reason was probably going to seem pretty silly to her but Kenny wasn't much for lying or skirting around a direct question. "Because by that age I hope to have grandchildren and I'd rather be fit enough to run around and play with them and watch their imaginations grow."
