Maia, without hesitation, followed him and - very gracefully, of course - climbed her way to the top. "What a good idea," she told him, sitting back with a smile spread clear across her face. "Can't believe it never crossed my mind before."

"Brilliance is born of ordinary ideas" Blaise smirked. He watched her carefully as sat back, her body on display in the moonlight. Talk about brilliance.

Maia's eyes wandered over to him. "Tell me something," she requested. "About you."

"I'm a male" Blaise answered, feeling that the superficial answer should suffice.

Maia rolled her eyes. "Oh, yes, thanks for clearing that one up - I was a little bit confused," she said, sarcastically.

Blaise smirked, "Be more specific, then." He suggested.

"Alright," Maia answered, thinking quietly to herself before speaking again. "Your background. Family - that sort of thing. Tell me something." She always took great interest in other families - probably because her own was so flawed. She liked to know that something different, better existed.

"My mother is my only family" Blaise informed simply. It wasn't something he was ashamed of, he just didn't care to tell her his life story. "My father died before I was born, my mother has married many times since."

Maia nodded, already preferring his family to her own, simply because he did not have psychotic stepmother. However, maybe he had psychotic stepfathers... Maia didn't think it would be appropriate to ask, though she was curious."Do you visit her over the holidays?" she asked, thinking it was a better way to ask if they were close. "I prefer Hogwarts to family, myself."

"I go home as often as possible - I adore my mother" Blaise answered, since it was true. No other woman could compare to his mother; the woman who raised him.

Maia smiled at his words - they painted a nice picture - and she allowed her head to fall back, her eyes drifting over the night sky above. She remained silent now, letting her questions slide and all thoughts of family fade into the back of her mind.

"Your turn, then. Tell me about... you. Are you one of those girls who serial dates?" Blaise asked, knowing she would give him a smartass answer without a specific question, as he had done.

"No, I just generally don't date," Maia told him, eyes still on the sky. Would he find that strange? Maia didn't know. She'd no idea if it was normal for a girl her age to date. "I don't understand the point."

"What do you do instead?" Blaise asked. He didn't really date, either. He and Audrey had regular sex, and some weird sort of relationship that was neither on nor off, at any given time, but he didn't go on dates.

"Everything else," Maia said, simply. "Everything else that doesn't require... well, feelings." She returned her eyes to Zabini, not sure if what she said made any sense to him at all. "If you know what I mean."
