Luke was lounging. It was a guilty pleasure of his and something that the boy could be found doing quite often. Some around Hogwarts regarded him as a slacker and they weren't wrong. He had very little care about anything in life, except his own amusement. A cigarette perched between his lips, billows of smoke curling into the surrounding air, really wasn't allowed but Luke wasn't bothered by it. As he leaned up against the wall opposite the statue of the Humpbacked Witch Luke studied her features, letting the mundane action fill up his free time. And by free time it was actually his Transfiguration period.

Nix muttered darkly to herself and pushed open the door to the charms room she'd been in and walked away ,"you do extra work and you get told off, you do no work and you get told off, can't some just flicking agree on what we're meant to do" she hissed as she walked down the corridor of the third floor when she caught the smell of smoke and almost hurled on the spot. She ran her fingers through her long messy red hair and then walked up towards where the smell seemed to be coming from and tried not to gag ,she rounded the corner of the hall and spotted a hufflepuff boy sitting down against one of the passages out of the school and narrowed her eyes ,"your killing yourself slowly" she called over to him and leaned against the stone wall beside her

Luke had heard someone grumbling, the sound of feet shuffling heading his way but it hadn't persuaded him to put out his cigarette or anything of the likes and was glad for it when he saw the girl approaching. She was a prefect, but if he wasn't mistaken she was on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Her comment went in one ear and out the other as Luke inhaled another glorious lung full of tobacco. When he exhaled he intentionally blew it in her face. "Move along Red."

"oh because I've never had that one before, can't people ever come up with something better than "red" when your talking to a ginger?" she said and then took a step forwards and sat down across from the boy ,"I you wanna go ahead and kill your self I won't stop you, warn yes, stop no" she said with her trademark smirk and then looked up at the windows around the corridor ,"should I bother to ask why your not in class or not?" she said with out looking at the boy

"Coming up with something more original would require me to care." Luke informed dryly flicking his ash in her direction before taking another long, satisfying drag. It seemed to be more enjoyable knowing that she was so against it. "No," He ensured her. wasn't any of her business and even if it was he didn't actually have a reason other than the simple fact that he didn't want to be there and that seemed too obvious to even mention. Besides she wasn't in class either.

"well aren't you the freindly little chappy" nix said in an off hand voice and ran her hand through her hair and then dipped it in to her robe pocket and took out her wand and her pair of leather fingerless gloves and slid the wand behind her ear and then pulled on the gloves and smiled down at them and then took her wand in her hand and flicked it between her fingers

"What gave it away?" Luke asked, though rhetorically. Obviously he wasn't friendly. What more did he have to do stamp it on his bloody forehead? He rolled his eyes at her fidgety gestures. The way she stared off into space seemed to be so absent-minded, as in there was nothing going on in that thick head of hers. At least when he stared at nothing in particular one could tell that he was thinking about something, something far more profound than any average person could fathom, blow their tiny minds.

Nix gave a dark smile as the boy dismissed and tried not to laugh, if she looked like an air head or one of the regular idiots he'd leave her be while she worked. She dipped her hand into her school bag and took out a big and heavy leather bound book and dropped it onto her lap and then opened it at it's centre and flicked through the pages for a moment before flicking her fingers out and stopping the pages on one and then flicking her wand so it landed in the middle of her palm and reading down the page quickly

Luke noticed that the girl was settling in his area to do school work. What the fuck? There were empty classrooms for that why couldn't she go there and do it, sit at a desk for support, it was the smarter thing to do. Luke was annoyed by her now. So had every intention of being obnoxious toward her. Rather than making any comment to the girl Luke piped up with, "There once was a man from Racine, who invented a fucking machine. Concave or convex, it could serve either sex, but oh, what a bother to clean!" The dirty limerick was meant to bother her, as she, sitting there, bothered him.

Nix tried hard not to laugh at the boys comment and she rolled her eyes and hummed quietly to herself ,it was clear that simply her being near the boy when he was trying to be all cool and relax. Nix gave a mischievous grin and ran her finger down the page on her book and then nodded and lifted her head up and stared at the wall across from her and lifted her wand up and smirked and then muttered under her breath and a small beam of White light came out from her wand but it was gone in a moment and nix hissed anger and then growled and looked down at the book again

Obnoxious, over the top, laughter filled the corridor, compliments of Luke, as the girl tried a simple spell and failed. He might not have been a Hermione Granger when it came to magic but even most first years could perform the Nox spell without a hitch and hear Jane Plain and Tall was with nothing but a flicker. "You'll be an Arora for sure with those skills." He mocked. Yes, he was an ass.

Nix gave a small smirk at the boys comment and then rolled her eyes and lifted her head tk look at him ,"no need to worry about that, I've nearly got this and I have something better besides" she said with a grin and then closed her eyes and screwed up her fists and felt pain shot through her head and bit her lip to keep from crying it and them it was gone and nix laughed and opened her eyes and then ran her hands throgh her hair and brushed her fingers over her ears as her tail flicked out from the top of her trousers ,"I'm too good already" she said and laughed as her black furry ears started twisting back and forth a little on her head picking up the sounds of hogwarts better than any human ears could

Watching furry little ear sprout from the girl Luke took a step back, not out of surprise, but something else entirely. "Holy fuck, that's just plain creepy man." He didn't have a problem with magic, it was just when people did unnatural things like that Luke had no problem voicing it. "I bet you get fleas a lot, huh?" Based on her trick there he assumed she was an animagus, some kind of dog or cat, maybe.

Nix gave a small laugh ,"nah, they seems to have something for pure animal blood which of course I can't provid for them so I'm good, but I have some freinds in the forbidden forest who aren't totally animal but they tell me they have bug issues alot" she said and then sniggered quietly to herself and then snapped the book she had had open in front of her shut and then turned to her bag and slid it inside. She grinned again and then flicked her tail out behind her and felt her ears twitch and nodded to herself ,"let's see how many people we can freak out shall we" she said with a smirk and then dusted her knees down and looked over at the other boy ,"my ears scaring you then?" she asked with her playful smirk still firmly on her face

"Scared? Fuck no. It's just plain unnatural. Usually when people have tails they strive to get them surgically removed." Luke scoffed. Scared? Not even close to the realm of possibilities. "Its a school of magic though, Red, not many are going to be freaked out." He added not at all concerned about their previous back and forth about the use of calling her Red, because he still didn't care.
