"That too, but no," Graham grinned. "I was talking about you. I like being around you because you aren't like other girls. You're genuine and don't play all those ridiculous head games."

At this rate she was going to have to start wearing makeup so that her blush would be hidden. Instead of mentioning that, though, Astoria ducked her head and took a sip of her tea, which was still far too hot to drink, and forgot about the heat of her cheeks in favour of the burning of her tongue. She made a strangled sort of sighing sound as she put the cup down quickly, more annoyed that she didn't have anything to hide behind, now, than anything. "Well I... I like spending time with you too," She said finally, instead of arguing, "Even if it means permanent blushing."

Graham watched as Astoria tried to hide behind her tea and as she took a sip he had just been about to warn her that it was probably too hot when she found that out herself. His tea had scalded on the way down but Graham didn't mind it, in fact he kind of liked it. "It would suit you well."

"I'd look like a doll" Astoria pointed out, biting gently on her tongue to see if pressure would help it feel better. It didn't.

"I see nothing wrong with that." Graham took another sip of his tea. "As long as you don't act like one."

He was just too... too much. Too perfect, and too... everything. "Are you sure about that?" She asked before she could stop herself, "I know you think you want that, but your life would be easier with a yes-woman, and I'm definitely not that - and I know how most of the pureblood males are raised, with mothers who are seen and not heard; I don't know if I'll be very good at that, you understand..." She trailed, realizing what she was saying. She didn't want to talk him out of anything, but she definitely wasn't going to let him go without being warned. Her tongue still burned and detracted from the warmth of her cheeks, but she knew both were hot and likely red. "Not that I wouldn't try, if you decided you wanted me to." She added somewhat sheepishly.

He listened to her ranting. Astoria didn't understand him at all it seemed. Graham wasn't like the rest of his mates. He didn't want someone to idly stand by and do as he said, he wanted someone that would challenge his intellectually, someone that he could interact with and have a good time. He sighed but understood why Astoria was saying these things. Her whole life had been about making sure she was perfect for everyone around her, his had been similar just not as strict as it was for a girl. "What I want is for you to be you."

It was so simple an answer. Nothing was ever that simple, though, was it? He didn't really know her. He knew her well enough, but he knew the her that she had to be, not wanted to be. But she supposed that was better than what she'd thought would happen... "Okay," She answered, since a simple request demanded a simple answer.

Maybe Graham didn't know everything there was to know about Astoria but even people who had known someone intimately all their lives couldn't know everything that was to know. That was the point of it all though, wasn't it. "Thank you."

Astoria stirred her tea around, weary of it now, before looking up at him again. "How do you feel about kids?" She asked, curious about not only how many he wanted, but how he wanted to raise them.

"I don't know any kids," He admitted. "But I want a big family, some where quiet in the country side." His dad expected him to follow in his footsteps and become a Governor but Graham didn't want that for himself.

She was happy with that, and Astoria showed it by smiling a very small but genuine smile. "How big?" She asked, wondering how he felt about the idea of adopting as well as having his own children. Astoria, ever the do gooder, would love to adopt children in need.

"I think four is a good number." He would have liked to say that a son wasn't necessary but the truth was, Graham did want at least one son. He wanted to be able to have a healthy father-son relationship. One where they would be able to talk to each other and be to his son what his father never had been to him.

"Three and one?" Astoria asked, somewhat hopefully, "I mean, I know you can't choose the genders, but I'd really like three boys and a girl. Older brothers, preferably."

"That would be nice." Graham agreed. He would have been happy with just one son whether he be younger or older than the rest but the specifics of Astoria's preference did make him smile. "That way they can look out for their baby sister."
