Graham wasn't a prefect so really had no business out at that time of night. However, he had one of those midnight cravings and who was he to ignore what his body wanted for something as silly as a curfew. After heading to the kitchens to eat a snack however Graham had fancied a stroll. With the same feelings that he had about getting some food Graham had gone the opposite way of the Slytherin Common Room to act out that whim as well.

Chris was not, in general, a frequent victim of insomnia. Tonight however, sleep had eluded her for the best part of 3 hours. Unwilling to lie in bed doing nothing and well on the way to death by boredom, Chris had thrown on her robe and gone for a walk. The fact that she was out past curfew did not bother her in the slightest. It wouldn't be the first time. She thought about which way to go and decided to head toward the kitchens. Perhaps the elves would still be up and she would have some form of conversation. She paused when she reached a corridor on the first floor, hearing footsteps just around the corner and ducked into an alcove, waiting to see who it would be.

The thing about taking a walk through the castle in the dead of the night was that it was awfully silent. Silent enough, in fact, to hear a second set of footsteps. These lighter, more delicate than his own. Ones that Graham had to associate either with a female or a first-second year. Whichever it was Graham made no move to hide his presence and continued on his way. If it so happened to be a Prefect he would either sweet talk his way out of trouble or take the punishment- either way Graham wasn't concerned about it.

The footsteps continued toward her and Chris peered carefully out. She could just make out a dull green edging on the boy's robes and the absence f the tell-tale glint that would have signified a prefects badge. She was safe. From detention at least. Stepping out from her hiding place, she leaned casually against the wall as she tried to put a name to the boy who had interrupted her midnight wanderings. She was bored and he was better than talking to the house elves.

A little further down the corridor a girl, based on the feminine curves of her body in the dim light, emerged from the shadows. Graham noted that he had been right about it being a girl and giving her a once over he also noted two more things; she wasn't a prefect and she wasn't bad looking, at least not in the poor light of the night. "Good evening." Graham greeted with a simple nod, nonchalant in essence.

Chris tilted her head to one side very slightly, looking at him. Now that he was in better light she found that she didn't recognize him. Standing in front of him, she realized that she was only wearing a rather short pair of sleeping shorts, a thin t-shirt and an even thinner silk robe. Shivering slightly, whether because of the sudden breeze of because she wasn't used to standing in front of strangers wearing so little she didn't know, she glanced at her watch and then looked back up at him, a hint of a smile tugging on the corners of her mouth "Technically" she told him "It's good morning. All the same, hello" She nodded back, returning the greeting.

"Fair enough." Graham shrugged. Morning, noon, or night he wasn't all that concerned as it had no effect on him whatsoever. Based on what she was wearing and the fact that she had hid from him to begin with Graham thought it a safe bet that the girl wasn't a Prefect. "You fancied yourself a midnight stroll as well I take it." Graham didn't wait for an answer before introducing himself. He had seen the girl around before, of course, but had never learned her name. "I'm Graham Pritchard." With that he also offered his hand.

"I find the castle far more pleasant to explore when the corridors aren't overflowing with other people" Chris smiled and took his hand "Christianne Claremont." Releasing his hand she remarked "I haven't seen you around before, do you often wander around by moonlight?"

The name sounded familiar though Graham couldn't place it at the moment and made little to no effort to try. "Not too often, only when the mood strikes. Originally I had just wanted something to eat." Graham explained. He didn't mind the crowds of Hogwarts.

"I see" Chris nodded. "I was thinking of heading to the kitchens myself. I wanted some tea" She didn't mention house elves. One Slytherin thinking she was crazy was enough, she didn't need another. She paused for a second, thinking. Chris wasn't exactly a people person but tonight for some reason, she wanted company. "Care to join me or were you heading back?"

He hadn't had any particular destination in mind but company didn't seem too bad to have at the moment. "I'll join you." Graham informed. "Wouldn't want a nice girl like you all alone at this time of time." He really had no evidence to the fact that Christianne was actually a nice girl but that mattered little.

Chris shot him a brilliant smile "Kind of you" She wasn't sure that many people would describe her as nice. She did have a tendency to reach a little too quickly for her wand, a tendency she was trying to overcome. Setting off in the directions of the kitchens Chris waited a second for him to catch up. She recalled a rather loud conversation she had overheard in the common room a day or so ago "Are there any other Grahams in Slytherin" She asked "Or are you the Graham that my dorm mates are chattering about?"

That may have been true but Graham really hadn't agreed to escort her for kindness' sake but because he had nothing better to do. He didn't correct her on this though, following along. To his knowledge, he was the only Graham in Slytherin unless there was some lower classman with the same name. "Depends, was it good or bad sort of chatter?"

"I don't know" Chris replied "Its in how you look at it I suppose. Personally, I would take objection to being discussed as if I were a prize racehorse. I don't know about you. They all want to get to know you better anyhow"

Graham didn't have those sentiments about being talked about. He saw it as a part of life and with his reputation being what it was, mostly good from what he understood, there was bond to be talk. "Perhaps they should just ask me. I'd be more than happy to oblige." Graham didn't mind conversing with some interested girls, though he doubted that was what they had in mind.
