"Big, strong, tough guy - I bet you're more into those wimpy little blond girls." Katie guessed - since all men seemed to be.

"I like all sorts." Graham corrected. True, Astoria was more or less what Katie had described but he wasn't about to bring her up.

"Like and prefer are different things," Katie pointed out.

Graham knew that he was about to sound very chliche, but he was being honest nonetheless. "I prefer girls that I can stand being around for more than just a pretty face and good sex, though those things are a factor as well. But I do like blondes, brunettes too. Depends on what their personality is like. No one is so good looking that I would be around them for any length of time if they didn't have more to offer."

Katie found herself nodding. Why did she like Oliver? Surely her reasons weren't the same as Graham's; he had a very nice face and he was talented at quidditch - sex she didn't know about - but what else? Did he offer anything else? He barely even registered her existence. "Good reasons," She said with a smile.

Graham certainly thought so. "What about you?" He assumed that whatever Katie told him would have everything to do with Oliver so that would help him figure out the best way to dissuade her from liking the boy.

"I guess most of the same," Katie answered, though a frown found its way to her face. "Though I'm a bit particular... I like... I like strong blokes - not strong physically, necessarily, but strong enough to take charge." She supposed that was part of the appeal of the captain. "Besides that, I guess... he's got to be sharp, be able to keep up."

"So you don't have a thing for blondes?" Graham checked playfully. He ran a hand over his hair flashing her a cheeky smile.

"Sorry honey, I'm prone to brunettes, myself" Katie smiled, "But I'd consider making an exception for you," she winked.

Marcus was a brunette. This caused Graham to smile but it grew even more at her comment and wink. "Lucky me."

That would probably be true too. Graham might not have been overly arrogant but he wasn't all that humble either. "We'll just have to see about that."

"I suppose we will" Katie agreed. This was an odd conversation - but at least it was a reminder that some male - even if it wasn't the one she wanted - noticed that she existed.

Normally by this point Graham would have made his move closing the deal but there were a couple of things keeping him on this flirtatious banter. The most obvious of which was that he was supposed to be lining things up for Marcus to take advantage, but on a subconscious level it might of had something to do with Astoria.
