"He is, yeah..." And she supposed, well, to an outsider, it probably was unnerving. "But... I mean, he's a great captain, and a good friend" If you were talking about quidditch.

"That is the important thing." Graham conceded. But not a moment later feigned confusion asking, "Right?"

"Yeah" Katie said quickly - too quickly, she realized - "I mean, it is, but sometimes I feel like I'm not much more than just a chaser, you know?"

"Under appreciated for the other wonderful things about you. Perhaps that you're a good person, intelligent, most obviously a girl." Graham speculated.

"Well I mean... he must realize I'm a girl..." Though he'd never shown it before, which made Katie frown. "Right?"

"I would think so, but then I've never seen the two of you together regarding anything else than Quidditch. You would know better than I would." Seeds of doubt, Graham knew this was messed up, playing on Katie's emotions to benefit Flint but he couldn't not do it. Not when his mates were expecting it of him.

Katie frowned, "But it isn't that my being a girl isn't noticeable, right?" She asked, now feeling highly inadequate. Oliver had never really noticed she was a girl - maybe it was because she was manish or something?

"It is noticeable to me, like I said you're gorgeous. Hell, if I were in Quidditch I'd find you down right distracting even- more focused on you than the game." Which was true but then Graham didn't care about Quidditch.

Some guy she barely knew said that, but Oliver hadn't even noticed that Katie was a female - or a person. Well, that was more than a little depressing. "Thanks," She said quietly.

"No problem." She was quiet and from what Graham had seen of Katie, which admittedly wasn't all that much, she wasn't the timid type. "I give compliments where compliments are due." He assured her, or rather further harped, indirectly, that Oliver was a git.

"That's a good policy." One that Oliver didn't prescribe to, Katie added to herself, somewhat bitterly. "Graham," She said suddenly, "Do you want to go for a drink?" Because right now, Katie sure needed one.

At the proposition, which of course he was going to accept, Graham thought that this had to be a good sign. "Sure, sounds fun."

Katie nodded, "Should be." She agreed, then began up the stairs. "Any preference to where?"

"Ladies choice." Graham insisted, although his choice of words was to harp on Katie actually being a girl.

Would Oliver ever say that? Would he ever even think it? He certainly didn't seem to think she was a lady, after all. "Somewhere far," She decided, then and there.
