All Drippy wanted, in reality, was a quiet place to hide out for a little bit. Someone had decided that today would be a noisy day in the common room, however, and it was hardly conducive to Drippy getting her book finished, since she'd not managed the previous weekend, having gone with Draco.
Finally she managed to find an empty classroom and happily went inside, sitting herself down in one of the chairs and settling in to begin reading her book, pleased that school was over for the week. Oh the joys of a Friday afternoon.

Her day had hardly been conducive to her mood. Dealing with Montague's sardonic ramblings was usually amusing to the girl but that day her fuse had been far too short. Still, Piper had laughed at appropriate intervals and the moment that he had parted company from her Piper had hurried in the opposite direction. She had left her bag in one of the spare dungeons in favor of appeasing Montague and now slipped back in to retrieve it. Her gaze landed on Mercedes, who had the unfortunate notion to be called Drippy. Piper refused to do so finding the name stupid so addressed her in her usual, formal manner instead. "Moore." Piper drawled somewhat pleasantly headed toward the corner where she'd left her bag.

'Piper' Drippy returned simply with a nod of her head when she was interrupted yet again from her reading. She couldn't decide whether the worst part was that she was only five pages from the end of the book or whether it was the fact that it had been Piper Mackey who had interrupted her. Truthfully, Drippy wasn't overly fond of the girl because not only did she share the name of a great aunt of Drippy's (who, much to her amusement, had died last year after blowing half her own face off) but she also shared a similar way of thinking. If Drippy hadn't known Piper for as long as she had, she'd swear that the other girl was her great aunt reincarnated. None the less she was always polite enough even if it was just to keep things as peaceful as possible.

Delicately picking her bag off the ground Piper shouldered it, moving the hair that had caught itself under the strap back in a sweeping motion. Generally speaking she was the nosy sort. After all, how could she possibly keep up with things if she didn't first inquire into things that weren't necessarily her business. Quietly making a beeline for Mercedes, Piper propped herself, in the most lady-like fashion she could manage, on top of a desk adjacent from the blond. "What book are you reading?"

'Just a biography' Drippy told her with a shrug of her shoulders, not sure whether it would be the kind of thing that the other girl would be interested in or not.

That was simply unacceptable. How very vague that answer had been. Piper wasn't particularly interested in the biography itself, except that further questioning would suffice in a conversation topic. She smiled tersely. "A biography on who?" For specific replies, with Mercedes, she needed to ask specific questions. Piper wasn't sure why she had forgotten that. Perhaps she thought that Mercedes would have known by now that when Piper inquired about something she wanted details. It was forgivable, she supposed.

'Seeker of the Irish team' Drippy shared when asked. It wasn't so much that she needed specific questions to give a specific answer like Piper thought, but more a case of her trying to get the other girl to take a hint, something that Piper just didn't seem to know how to do.

Hints might have been lost on Piper...or she didn't care enough to give Mercedes her wanted privacy. Whatever the case the same end result was the same, Piper wasn't going any where until she she good and ready to. At least she wasn't reading some bloody nonsense about some muggle. "What's the appeal? With Quidditch I mean. I understand why the boys like it, but its so terribly rough, hardly suitable for a young lady." Mercedes really could stand to be a little less butch in her interests. Piper didn't know much about Quidditch, just enough to get her by in a conversation with a suitable male.

'What does it matter whether it's suitable for a young lady or not, if it's what I enjoy doing?' Drippy asked, truly unable to comprehend such a thing. After all, it was really none of Piper's business why Drippy was fond of Quidditch and that was most certainly one thing that she was not going to get out of the young blonde girl no matter how hard she tried.

"It matters plenty to me, but obviously you don't have the same sentiments." How could Drippy reduce herself to such inappropriate conduct? It was about having some class and a proper lady would not be up in the air playing a game meant for boys. Maybe Drippy liked being a ruffian though.

'And really, technically, it's not any of your business' Drippy murmured, not at all trying to stir the other girl up, just stating her line of thought on the matter.

"As you have so aptly stated already." Piper reminded her. Wasn't her opinion on the matter clear though? She didn't much care whether it was her business or not because there was nothing stopping her from inquiring nonetheless.
