There were a fair few teachers that weren't all that fond of Kevin and Professor Snape was just one of them. He often spoke out of turn, something that couldn't be helped even if Kevin had wanted to try, which he didn't. Why should he hold his tongue when someone said something incorrect. Snape didn't make too many mistakes but that day in class he had, it was something simple but Kevin had spoke right up. It had landed him detention that night.
Helping Snape do inventory wasn't that big of a punishment so Kevin didn't have any complaints. An hour later Snape dismissed him and with a curt nod of his head Kevin exited the study only to stop short narrowly avoiding someone that was passing by.

Ellyon needed a quiet place to get lsot and practice spells at will without any interruptions and since her usual spot on the ground floor was surprisingly occupied today, she decided to go a bit deeper into the castle and maybe find a replacement, a second choice for the future. She had her purple bag on her shoulder and was humming the latest song she heard when she felt something. It was that something that annoys her the most and it came in the form of a slightly broken nail. Now how on earth did that happen? Beats her, but she knew for certain she had to fix it. She reached for her bag and began looking for the nails polisher she generally had with her for emergencies like this. She was so focused on her activity and walking that she didn't notice the person that just came out of a door to the left. Luckily though the other was more careful then her and so they avoided collision.
,,Oy'' the blond said slightly annoyed as she gazed up to see a guy from her house that she barely talked to ,,what's the rush?" she questioned in the same manner even though she was mildly aware she was a bit overreacting and that it was probably her fault for not paying attention that they nearly collided.

A minor inconvenience had decided to open its mouth and make asinine comments. Kevin breathed in deeply, not at all bothered in being obvious that he wasn't pleased with her tone. He recognized her from the Common Room though had never bothered to learn her name. Perhaps it had been simple perception that had kept Kevin from any interaction with this girl; intuition that she was quite possibly daft for using she a bristled tone with him when she was at just as much fault, probably more than, as he was.
"I wasn't aware that I was in any rush." Kevin hadn't been walking quickly but instead exiting out of Snape's study. Glancing down at her hands to see that one held nail polish Kevin had a pretty good idea of what sort of person this girl was; vain, rude, inconsiderate, self-center. He did read books by their covers, so to speak. As an avid cynic Kevin saw no reason not to assume things about people when it was all they had showed him.

,,Well maybe you should think twice because it sure looked like it by the way you opened that... door'' Ellyon said in the same manner as she turned to look at the spot the guy came from. Snape's Study. Hm... then that might actually explain the fact that anyone could be in a rush to exist that probably highly infested place. Ellyon never had a problem with Potions, on the contrary she mildly liked it as a class and subject, but the fact the professor always looked so greasy made her stomach turn. Really now would it kill him to wash once in a while? Apparently so since she never once saw him clean enough to match her highly demanding standards.
Turning her face back at the guy she smiled ,,but I guess you're excused. Anyone would be in a rush to leave... that'' the blond said motioning towards the door with the hand she held the polisher.

"Appearances can be deceiving." Kevin countered. In fact he hadn't been going any faster than his usual pace. Perhaps though, in comparison to her, that was rushing. Kevin just preferred not to lolly-gag. This girl very well could have been the opposite way. Based on what she held in her hand still, the nail polish, Kevin had a feeling that she wasted time on idle things, being so sluggish as to have a steady hand when applying polish as she walked, and by sluggish Kevin of course meant remaining stationary.
How very rich was that? He was excused. Kevin made a grunt of indignation in the back of his throat at her statement. Rather than getting into a redundant debate about who was at fault here, happy, in this case, knowing that he was correct, as always, Kevin didn't comment on that aspect of her statement letting it slide. "Unfortunate place as it may be I don't particularly mind it. One must become accustom to such things as they surround us everywhere." Yes, he was a cynic.

,,True. But sometimes what you see is what you get'' Ellyon said simply ,,because lets face it, if you are smart enough you can read the signs that indicate what had happened and how things are'' she added casually fully believing that as the ravenclaw she was. She valued intelligence above all and she always thought that a keen eye can read behind the veils one puts as to mask their true nature. Of course few people were naturally gifted in that, most doing it thanks to experience and a lot of training. In her case she didn't know or better say she didn't care to know because she was the perfect mixture in shallowness and intelligence in points she did care for appearances but was smart enough to see through an act if the situation needed it or if she got curious enough to want to learn more.
,,Maybe in your world'' Ellyon said cocking a brown ,,in mine they do not exist. Everything is clean and fresh like a spring morning'' she added arrogantly looking him straight into the eyes for a moment before remembering her nail. She looked down at her girlish looking file/polisher and then back up deciding to not actually mend her nail as she was talking because for now the boy wasn't that annoying to make her be that rude. Not that it was beneath her to do that to someone, but still, for now she decided it can wait.

Kevin shook his head slowly. "That statement was contradictory." He pointed out. "If one gets what they see then it wouldn't be necessary to have any insight at all." He wondered if this girl was simply speaking to hear her own voice or if she had no idea how oxymoronic her beliefs were.
"It must be nice to be delusional." He commented dryly. Her optimism was over the top, Kevin felt. "I don't suppose you took into account genocide, poverty, slavery, torture, or the hundreds of other atrocities in the world. Or are those things also clean and fresh like a spring morning?"

,,Not completely true. If you're good enough you can see the reality and not the small cheap fireworks that are there to distract you. So what you see, what you can really see, is what you actually get. If you see only the appearance and you can’t read the smaller details that most of the times go unnoticed then you just are blinded by the shinny shell and can consider yourself unworthy of the bronze and blue'' Ellyon explained simply. She didn’t really know why she had bothered doing it because the guy clearly couldn’t read between the lines, but oh well, she will just consider it a good deed she had decided to do in one boring afternoon.
,,They don’t exist in my world. They cannot affect me, so why bother with them?" the girl commented simply. Yes, she was very selfish most of the times so little things like one's misery truly didn’t affect her because she simply didn’t care. If she was well, then the rest didn’t matter at all.

She was still being contradictory and now redundant. Kevin hated repeating himself, which put an edge in his tone. "Looking pass the surface of something is not getting what you see, it is having intuition that you are talking about. Honestly, do you think at all before you speak because you make very little sense, did you know?" Kevin reiterated figured that she didn't or simply didn't care.
"I strongly recommend that you get an immediate mental evaluation. Your concepts are colossally falsified with hokum. Rather you acknowledge something or not it still exists." He explained trying to remain collected but his irritation was clawing at the surface from all of the nonsense this girl was polluting the air with.

,,Whatever'' Ellyon decided to to just give up the idea of explaining ,,you take things too literally'' she added casually as she began mending her broken nail. She did it for a few seconds before looking at it in the dim light of the dungeon's corridor ,,and i do think, just not like you. I'm not that tied up to the actual words as you seem to be'' she continued in the same manner keeping her entire focus on her current activity ,,darn it, the light isn't good enough to finish, oh well'' she said more to herself then the boy in front of her as she put her nail polisher into her pocket.
,,Are you done insulting me?" the girl said simply as she rose her gaze, her tone being far more serious then it had been until now ,,if you wish to live in a miserable world and take notice of everything that's bad around you it's your problem. I prefer to live in denial and I prefer focusing on the positive aspects of my life and that doesn't mean I have mental issues. I like my life. It makes me be less... you'' she added simply and turned her back to him ,,I'm sorry I bumped into you. If I knew what a boring stuck in reality person you are I would have made sure to be in the opposite side of the castle. Goodbye'' she added simply and began walking down the dungeon corridor really wanting to get that practice she came down here for done.
