Astoria nodded, getting to her feet after releasing his hand, smile bright on her face. "We'll be parting ways, then" She noted, slinging her bag back over her shoulder and shaking out her hair from where it pressed the locks down.

"Unless you want to sit at the Slytherin table with me." Graham offered. Astoria would be risking vulgar comments being made in her presence and a lot of stares.

"I try to avoid Pansy and Daphne, but thank you for the offer" Astoria smiled weakly. The two were friends and both tried to make her into something she wasn't; one of them. "The Ravenclaw table isn't bad... a lot of books, but generally peaceful."

All it took with Pansy, usually, was for him to tell her to shut up and if that didn't work it would for Draco. Daphne on the other hand was pretty head strong about that sort of thing so Graham understood why Astoria wasn't all that interested. He wasn't sure if Astoria was suggesting, in her own way, that he join her or not. "Yeah? Sounds nice."

"I wouldn't say nice, exactly, but better than dealing with a bunch of Slytherin girls" Astoria shrugged, "You're welcome to join me there, if you'd like, but I understand if you would rather sit with your friends."

Graham didn't know about that. He wanted to sit with Astoria but there was a major problem with that. Doing so would bring more questions than Graham thought it was worth. Besides he, selfishly, didn't want to share her with anyone. One-on-one time was much more appealing. "I think I'll take a rain check on that."

Astoria nodded, though it did sadden her that he wasn't interested in joining her for no apparent reason. She tried not to look as rejected as she felt, and shrugged, starting back in the direction they'd come from. "Offer's always there" she said as she walked, smiling weakly.

Graham, much like on the walk over, put his arm over Astoria's shoulders. "I like spending time with you without your attention divided amongst others, selfishly." He had said he would be more forthcoming with her so Graham figured he might as well start.

Astoria nodded, "Well, uh... thank you" She smiled, though she wasn't sure she was thankful of the comment. While that was a very good reason, he had been fine with her sitting at the Slytherin table, so she couldn't be all that sure that he was being truthful; she had a feeling he would just be embarrassed of sitting at a table other than his own.

Graham nodded his acceptable. It was one thing for a girl to sit with him that wasn't in Slytherin, no one would think twice about it, but if Graham were to stray from the Slytherin table for a girl it would be a lot of talk. Double standards did exist.

Astoria watched him as they walked, once more enjoying the weight of his arm across her shoulders, unsure what else to say to him in the meantime. She was comfortable with the silence, but didn't want to bore him - a common worry of hers.

Graham, too, was comfortable with the silence but wasn't positive that Astoria was. "Have your parents started looking into suitors for you yet?" He wasn't sure why he was asking except that it had popped into his mind.

Astoria's smile faded immediately, and she averted her gaze to her shoes, "They're leaning towards Draco, at the moment - but nothing's set in stone. At one point they were talking about Marcus Flint."

Graham was friendly with Flint but he didn't think that he was nearly good enough for the likes of Astoria. "Draco's a fine choice." He said instead not wanting to talk negatively about anyone if it could be avoided. After all Flint hadn't done anything to him to warrant it.

"Not for me" Astoria answered immediately. Having thought about it, she didn't think the two of them would get along well - Astoria loved him like she would love a brother, not a husband. "We've known each other too long, and he's too... familial." She explained, since she didn't want Graham to think she hated the Malfoys, by any means. "But no other families are really interested in the Ravenclaw girl." She shrugged.
