"I don't know." Alicia was a little scared. If they did start dating what would happen to their friendship? She didn't want to loose that. "I don't want to mess anything between us up." She voiced her concern.

George, based on this conversation, had a feeling that it already had. "You're right." He nodded, "Then we won't" He said decisively, offering his hand again. "Lunch?"

Alicia had this sinking feeling like she had seriously screwed this up. Still, she took George's hand again and nodded. "Lunch." She agreed.

"I know," George said very seriously, "With perfection like this it's hard to believe" He nodded, gesturing to his body with his free hand." Though he was now very conscious that she wanted nothing to do with that; and it was strange. He had always thought there was some... chance? Option? He wasn't sure. But he never thought it would be an outright no.

Alicia grinned. "It really is." There had been a misunderstanding between them that neither was even aware of. Alicia hadn't said no to George, she had been asking what he thought would happen to their friendship if they became more. His reply had her thinking that George thought it would be messed up if their relationship escalated.

She fancied Fred! That was the only possible explanation; she didn't want to be with him, but she thought he was handsome and she liked his pranking... it all made sense, now! He was surprised he hadn't figured it out sooner. "I'm sure you are" He said knowingly, now that he'd figured it all out.

Well he seemed to believe her, that was a start. Alicia wasn't the type to bring it back up, or at all, especially since Katie had told her it was a bad idea. dancing around things made Alicia feel like things could too easily be misunderstood though. She nodded her agreement.
