A scrapped knee and now a sore butt... Elle was just one big mess today. Sitting there on the forest floor she wondered what the third thing would be because bad things always happened in threes. The boy hadn't make any move to help her or even see if she was okay. Well if he couldn't even do her the kindness of saying hello, introducing himself, then why should she expect him to have compassion either. Elle sighed heaving herself to her feet. "Thanks for all the help buddy." With that said she finally decided to turn her back on him and head back.

'I don't go around just offering my services like some common man. Besides, you should know how to heal yourself by this age' Declan informed her curtly, voice rather blunt. He believed that anyone who was interested in becoming a real witch or wizard would know how to take care of themselves first and foremost.

Elle had enough of this boy. He was rude, inconsiderate, and so far seemed a bit cruel. He had dropped a rock on poor, defenseless ants, after all. "I do know how to heal myself." Elle said through gritted teeth whipping back around to face the boy. "That wasn't the sort of help I was talking about but I can see how you might be confused because you, so far, seem incompetent in the area I was talking about; common courtesy, human decency, compassion- didn't your parents teach you that?"

'They taught me more than you could comprehend' Declan informed her simply, easily. He wasn't going to be sucked in, he wasn't going to let other people into his life. His parents had taught him that becoming attached to people only gave others a weakness in you and if you gave other people a weakness for them to work with, there was very little doubt that they would hold it against you. Besides, if she'd really needed his help, he probably would have helped, but to him it was clear that she was simply seeking attention.

"Based on what I've seen from you I wouldn't even want to comprehend." Elle shot back. They clearly had far different ideals. How could a person be such a jerk to someone who was only trying to be friendly it didn't make sense to her.

'That's because your parents have raised you blind' Declan told her in an amused tone, feeling that it was nothing short of true, although he offered up no shred of an explanation for his reasoning.

"Not blind," Elle corrected. "but to see the glass half full. You, on the other hand, apparently were raised as a cynic and a jerk to boot." She wasn't sure why she wasn't just walking away. Maybe it was because he had gotten under her skin.

'I was raised to be disciplined, something you obviously wouldn't know anything about' Declan retorted simply before turning his attention back to the ants, feeling this was petty and childish, really. In face, he was pretty well ashamed that he'd even responded to her at all.

Elle found it curious that the boy was so willing to tell her how he was raised but a simple thing like introducing himself was out of the question. She let out a small laugh finding everything about him incredulous. "Sure that's what it is."

Declan didn't say anything this time, simply lowering his hand down until it was pushed against the dirt, completely cutting off any access the ants had from each other.

Looking on Elle let an unpleasant thought pass into her mind, hoping that the boy got bit by those ants. She huffed and turned to walk away again tried of trying and sick of arguing.

Well Declan certainly wasn't going to stop her from going as he pulled out his wand once more, sending a wave of water washing over the ants that he'd trapped on one side of his hand.
