He was also the younger brother of Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred and George, and the elder brother of Ginny. Ron and his five older brothers - Bill, Charlie, Percy, and Fred and George — as well as his younger sister, Ginny, grew up in the Burrow in Ottery St. Catchpole in Devon. The Weasley family was not very wealthy at all, compared to other wizarding families, and many other pure-blood families, particularly the Malfoys, disdained them for their "blood traitor" beliefs and lack of wealth, which they tried their best to make up for with their love. Ron began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1991 and was sorted into Gryffindor house. ANYTHING ELSE: Ron was extremely talented at chess. It was he who taught Harry how to play. Ron and Harry often played Wizard's Chess together when they had free time. In his first year, his logistic ability helped him, Hermione, and Harry play past Professor McGonagall's magically Transfigured giant chessboard to get to the Philosopher's Stone and prevent it being stolen by Voldemort. As a result, he got fifty points for his house for "the best played game of chess that Hogwarts has seen these many years", as Dumbledore himself noted.

They are quite proud of having pure blood and, their continued allegiance to Lord Voldemort while maintaining a respectable public image. Both the Malfoy family and the Black family have traditionally been in Slytherin House for centuries; indeed, the Blacks usually disowned anyone who was not. The Malfoys are rich and therefore spoil their son, giving him the best of everything as far as material possessions go. The only hand-me-down thing Draco has ever received would be the old family prejudice against Muggles, Muggle-borns, and half-bloods; in short, prejudice against anyone who is not a pure-blood witch or wizard.
