Lick a toad? Was that honestly the best thing she could think of? Marcus had heard his fair share of threats, profanity, rude remarks and foul names. In fact, he'd doled out many himself. So hearing her tell him to go lick a toad caused him to let out a light snort. "Suit yourself," he said rather tauntingly. Marcus Flint was not the most patient of people but he was thoroughly enjoying slowly annoying the Gryffindor. It was her own fault for being in the dungeons after class anyway.

Katie silently imitated him - though it was more like moving her mouth like a mentally challenged person - but said nothing else, continuing to follow the text's instructions. Stupid blighter was just a fool. He didn't really know what he was talking about...
She hoped.

"What makes you think Snape'll pass you anyway?" he asked with an ever present smirk etched on his face. Marcus knew, as well as anyone, that his head of house had a dislike for Gryffindors just like everyone else in Slytherin did. He was certain that the professor would gladly fail a Gryffindork...especially one who was on the house team.

"Because Professor McGonagall talked to him." Katie answered without looking up. "Any other questions?"

Marcus merely shrugged at her reply and question. He still doubted that the old bat would influence Snape to give her Gryffindor a passing grade. The a rather devious idea entered his generally thick skull. Sure, it would likely make things a bit caustic but he was getting tired of Bell just brushing off his every attempt at annoying her. His dark eyes watching her intently he noted, "So Wood banged your head of house to make her talk to Snape for you, huh? Pathetic."

Her teeth clenched, but Katie didn't otherwise show the effect of the words. He knew her buttons, that was sure; she hated when people talked negatively about Oliver; he was a great captain, a smart guy, and, though she hated to admit it aloud, someone she would love to spend a lot of time with. "Just because you shag your head of house to get better grades doesn't mean all of us do" She shot back nearly immediately, still trying not to look at him.

Now he was getting somewhere! "Defensive much?" he suggested nonchalantly, watching her very carefully, "Or just jealous?" He wasn't sure if she felt it was her duty to protect her captain or if there was an underlying crush that made her snap back so quickly. It didn't much matter as long as he was getting under her skin. Carelessly, he added, "I hear McGonagall likes it rough. No wonder Wood can't block worth rubbish after that."

Her teeth clenched again. "What's there to be jealous of?" Katie asked, adding each ingredient in the order it was meant to be in. "As for his blocking skill, if that's rubbish it speaks to how bad a chaser you are, can't even get one past him."
