Anne's mum always thought it was inappropriate for girls to be alone. She claimed it made them easy targets, because all boys were horrible nasty creatures out to steal the virtue of young girls. Of course. Anne usually thought of her mum as a sensible one, more so than her father. But on this topic, she was about as loony as that Quibbler magazine.
She listened to her mum, took her advice to heart, but with this, she disregarded it with ease. Anne was almost always alone and no boy has yet try to steal her virtue. She walked from the Hufflepuff common room to the second floor in search of a quiet classroom to study in. There were normally free classrooms during the evening, and Anne made it a habit of visiting them when she needed a quiet study space. Opening one of the doors, she made her way into a classroom and set her books down on a desk. Anne sat in one of the chairs, opened her book, and began the long, terribly boring process of studying.

Then, a bang. Fred threw the door open, his body flying in after it, and glanced around the room. He saw only one person, and immediately attacked her with words, gesticulating wildly from the doorway.
"You! Have you seen my brother? He looks like me. Quite a lot, actually. What are you doing in here, anyway? Is that a book? Are you reading? Oh, are you studying? Why would you do that? That's silly. You're silly. I know you. Where do I know you from? Hey, have you seen my brother? Did I ask you that already?"

The loud noise startled Anne when the red head joined her in the room. Oh Merlin help her, it was another Weasley. Was this one George of Fred? Anne bit her lip, noticing his gestures, quite frightened that he was actually going to talk to her.
Which he did.
"Uhm..." She didn't have the words to respond. She didn't process anything but the first couple of questions and maybe the last few. Though at the question of "Have you seen my brother?" Anne decided that this was Fred Weasley. She hoped. "I think so ... your brother, at least. Last I saw of him was at the Willow." Her speech was much slower than his, clearly still stunned by his sudden appearance. She closed her book quietly. She seemed to be doing the exact opposite of him.
"You may have seen me around school. I-I am a student here. And Head Girl, if ... that's how you know me..."

"That is how I know you! You're Head Girl!" Fred clicked his fingers as if he'd been the one to think of it. "Well, you're not doing a very good job of it, are you? There are children running amok all over the place and you've shut yourself in here to read!"
He moved over to her, letting the door fall shut behind him, George forgotten. "See, I always thought I'd make a wonderful Head Boy. I'm always out and about, and I always know everything that's going on. George could have been my Head Girl. We would have made a wonderful team to lead the school. I can't imagine you and Ferret Face work together very well. Pretty enough to amuse him, I suppose. Hufflepuff, though, he wouldn't like that."

Anne didn't like hearing how she wasn't a good Head Girl. She had worked very hard for this position. Besides... all the students were in their appropriate houses at this time of the evening. There's usually hardly any people out... Anne frowned. "Not my time to make rounds. Not until later." She muttered, standing up and setting her books in a neat pile, intending on leaving.
That is, if he would stop talking. At least she got one thing out of him blathering on and on. He was Fred, the other was George. That should set her straight. Fred is a little more ... talkative. Once the Head Boy's popular nickname popped into his rambling, Anne's eyes darted up. "Pretty enough to amuse him, I suppose." That one little sentence did enough. She didn't need to hear the rest. "Ten points from Gryffindor." Anne said, folding her hands over her chest with a heave. She wasn't going to have this boy tell her she wasn't doing her job well and go on to talk about her and Malfoy. Especially not like that. "If you want to see me do what I'm suppose to do, there you have it. Would you like detention too?" Anne could hear her voice, sharp and angry. And she could tell her face showed no trace of friendliness, only annoyed anger.

Fred unravelled her arms to take hold of her wrist before she could go anywhere, gentle enough not to hurt her, but firmly enough so that she couldn't immediately pull herself free.
"Here, I'm only teasing!" he smirked, not at all bothered about the points or threat of detention, but rather concerned that she didn't find him funny. Perhaps he'd come on a little strong. Or perhaps all Heads of School just completely lacked a sense of humour.
"Unless you thought I was being serious about George being Head Girl, too?" he added, attempting to spin her around on her spot to lighten her up.

Anne was shocked to say the least that he had grabbed her. She kept her frown in place as he held onto her wrist, making it very difficult to get away. Immobile, Anne slumped her shoulders and glanced up at him. He smirked. Of all things, smirked at her. Seemingly unaffected by her promises of deducting points and detention.
He claimed he was only teasing. Seemed a bit more than that to Anne. She averted her gaze downwards, she didn't want to play whatever game this was. She wanted to study- though not really, who wants to study? His comment about George eased Anne enough to at least drop her frown as he spun her. She caught herself before she could smile, biting her lip, "George? In the skirts I wear? He wouldn't last a day."

Fred knew smiles - in fact, he was an expert - and although there wasn't much trace of one, he could see it in her eyes. Whatever her name was. He could figure that out. Either way, he felt safe now that she wouldn't run away and released her wrist.
"He'd be savaged by rowdy boys, I know," he sighed. "It's the curse of the Weasleys - we have exceptionally attractive legs. And faces, but that's another story." He paused, then added, "Your name is Hannah."

Anne took a step away from him, glad to be released. She was still a bit unhappy with the way he perceived her, though now she wasn't thinking about throwing a book at his head. Anne smooth out her robes and tucked her hands safely inside her pockets.
"Kind of revolting. Thinking about any of the Weasley children, other than your sister, in a skirt." She grinned at his guess at her name. Reminded her, faintly, of the conversation she had with his brother. "Guess again, Weasley."

"Ginny has the worse legs out of all of us, actually," Fred corrected matter-of-factly. "You should see my dad's - he modelled stockings in his youth. It's something like Hannah, though, isn't it? Am I close? Hannah or Anna or Banana... is your name Banana?"

Anne cringed. She had no idea what his father looked like, but imagining a grown man in stockings honestly made her want to throw up. She couldn't take all this talk about mean wearing heels and dresses and stockings. What's wrong with these Weasley twins?
"No, not banana." She told him, not giving away any more hints, even though he had correctly picked out her name.

"Well, I'm going to call you Banana," Fred decided, nodding at the yellow stripes of her tie. "I feel it's appropriate. I'm Fred, I think. I usually am. I am a distraction. When I find people studying, I feel it my duty to rescue them. You can thank me later."

"Fine," Anne shrugged at the nickname. Banana wasn't all bad. She could live with it. Besides she wasn't going to see Fred much around school anyway, at least, not to her knowledge. "And I figured you were Fred. Met the other one the other day. And I was actually enjoying my studying." Lying through her teeth. She couldn't tell if she was good or bad at it. It wasn't something she did often.

"Well that's a lie," Fred smirked, raised an eyebrow. "I have only ever known one person that likes studying and she's completely mental. You don't seem mental. I doubt Dumbledore would give the position of Head Girl to a mental person. Besides, you quite clearly have no choice in this; I am distracter of studyers and protector of procrastination. The status quo must be preserved."

"You were commenting on how you and your brother could have made better Heads, and you two are completely mental. So thank Merlin Dumbledore sent the position my way, eh?" Anne sauntered back to her seat, opening a book on her way, "And how exactly are you going to distract me from my studying? You know, there's a huge exam in Arithmancy I must study for..."
