When Kevin saw a smile, a smile was all he saw. He wasn't the type to look past things or read between the lines because he hadn't cared before, and now that he did he found that he couldn't tell the difference or interpret what the smile could mean. "The boy is coming back." Kevin pointed out to a group of young boys headed in their direction, the boy he had intimidated leading the pack. "Next, we get as many signatures as we can and then I take you to dinner."

Dinner? As much as, five minutes ago, that would have been something that was undoubtedly appealing to Rose, she now found that she didn't want to. She was scared, because she obviously wanted him in a way she'd not wanted anyone before, and he didn't seem to be on the same page. The small smile faltered slightly, but she nodded, looking around before spotting another group of males that would likely be an easy target for her, and a group of females who were already eyeing Kevin. The guys were standing just outside the pub, smoking, and the girls looked to be finishing up shopping. She didn't know what to do, because going to the girls was likely not to get them signatures, but going to the guys was going to bother Kevin. Deciding that she could deal with Kevin but not with the hunting of Unicorns, she smiled weakly at Kevin again and set off in the direction of the other group of boys.

Kevin watched as Rose headed over to the group of guys. He had just said that he did want to know about it, but it was for a good cause. Reluctantly, Kevin went over to the group of girls that were looking at him with interest. He knew they didn't care about the unicorns, they were far too superficial to, but they would do anything for a bit of male attention which he gave them, offering a smile and occasional compliments. Still, he couldn't help but glance over at Rose occasionally. He felt that feeling again, that unpleasant one that made his fists ball up and his brow furrow. One of the girls noticed and pointing it out asked whether Rose was his girlfriend. Girlfriend; what a strange concept, but he didn't hate it.

Rose did her best not to look over at Kevin, because she knew she would be jealous if she did. Instead, she took an offered cigarette from one of the guys, which he lit in his own mouth before holding it for her to take. She smiled coyly, taking a long, slow drag as she held out the petition for the boys to sign. All of them did, and she chatted for a while, finishing her smoke quickly and saying goodbye to the boys to walk back towards Kevin. She held the petition to her chest as she approached, smiling at the girls rather than Kevin, because she knew that he was more likely to get their signatures if she was pleasantly disconnected from him.

The girls turned their attention to Rose as she approached making some comments about snagging Kevin up while she could or something along those lines, Kevin wasn't paying much attention to what they were saying anymore. "Yes." He agreed to what they were saying without really knowing it and gently took the clipboard from Rose to hand over to the lead girl to sign first.

"I love your shoes," Rose said to one of the girls, as Kevin had her sign - she seemed to be the ringleader of the little tribe, but Rose cared little about that. Even with the compliment, which had been genuine, Rose received a glare, but she didn't care much about that, either. Since Kevin had joined her, they'd gotten over twenty signatures, and despite the fact that it was getting dark and they would need to stop soon, it was excellent progress. That was all Rose cared about at the moment, since she was avoiding caring about not being cared about by Kevin.

"Thank you ladies." Kevin flashed them one more smile before roping Rose to his side again to wave them off. "We can pick this back up tomorrow at school. I'm hungry now. Shall we?"

Rose nodded, though she didn't understand why he was holding her again - she didn't understand anything Kevin was doing today, it seemed. "Sure" She answered, though her brain was firing off alarmbells - she needed to get away from him, not spend more time with him!

Kevin felt like he should say something, explain his actions to Rose, but he found it difficult to translate what he was feeling into words. It was all very confusing. "I think I like you." Yes, that would do.

"Well if you didn't like me, I doubt you'd be out here helping me, never mind taking me to dinner." Rose pointed out, confused. Besides, they'd already slept together, it wasn't as though they couldn't tolerate each other before - what brought on the sudden admission? "Though I'm glad to hear you don't hate me." She added, not wanting to seem ungrateful.

"That isn't what I meant." Kevin continued. "I like you in a different sense than mere friendship. I'm not really any good at these sort of things so I doubt I'm making much sense or doing it correctly, but the dinner invitation is a date."

Rose wasn't sure what to do, and so she followed her instincts and stood on her toes to kiss Kevin, forcefully, on the mouth. He hadn't told her what she wanted to hear; he seemed genuine in his desire to be with her. That alone made her want him even more, in any capacity. "I like you, too" She informed as she settled back on her feet.

Kevin kissed back a little weary of the dozens of pair of eyes that were now on them. It was hardly proper but he didn't mind as much as he should have. "Good." He declared nodding. "So, dinner?"

Rose nodded, though not sure what a date actually entailed. She felt she was probably underdressed for something of this nature, but didn't mention it, instead smiling, "Where to, then?"

"There is a Chinese place that I like in London, not too far from here." Kevin informed leading Rose toward the Leaky Cauldron. "Is that alright with you?"
