Fred raised his eyebrows at George, knowing exactly what his twin was thinking, and exchanged a smirk. He looked across at Hermione and arranged his face in a completely deadpan, serious expression.

"We're making sure that Ronald here is eating his greens," he explained - well, if she was going to joke, then... "He'd do well to eat healthier, you know."

Ron gave a smile and a brief wave with his fork but didn't verbally return Hermione's greeting as his mouth was full. He swallowed hard and was about to say something to her when Fred spoke up. Rolling his eyes, he forked a bean and shrugged before slipping it in his mouth. "Yeah, well..." he mumbled to no one in particular, casting a glance over at George as if to remind him of his earlier question.
