Was she ready? That was a damn good question, wasn't it. She'd never thought about it. But maybe the fact that she'd never thought about it before meant that she was ready. But then again... "That depends on what this is." She said aloud, moments after deciding so internally. "I don't intend to be like my sister" in terms of being one night stand for his enjoyment.

That was the uncertainty though. Nothing was finalized between them, negotiations were just beginning and Graham wasn't sure if Astoria meant that or on an emotional level. Was he ready for emotion to be involved? He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, taking his time to actually put some thought behind it. "I like you." He informed. "And I don't want to hurt you, nothing is official but I am hoping that it happens." Did that explain it to her satisfaction?

"And you're sleeping with other girls, something you'll continue to do" Astoria assumed, since that was what she'd meant and he hadn't addressed it. He liked her, something she had doubted until he explicitly said it, and while that should have been enough, she didn't feel it was.

Oh it was about fidelity. Graham hadn't even thought about that. He did sleep around quite a bit, but that was the norm for a Slytherin guy, which was probably why none settled down until they were forced to by their obligations. "I haven't really thought about that." Graham admitted. "I guess so. It's only right not to sleep with other girls if that's what you expect from me." Did that mean he was agreeing to be her boyfriend? Graham was a little confused to be honest but still meant what he'd said.

"I have no right to expect anything from you" Astoria reminded him. She just didn't want to be one of many, now or ever. That was why she hadn't done anything like this before, really. "And I don't. Expect anything, I mean. I just don't want to... Go that far unless it's..." She shrugged, feeling her would understand.

"I get it." Having sex with him would make Astoria more vulnerable, emotionally, than she ever had been. If he just continued on like he was then it would probably make her feel used, unwanted, a slew of other unfavorable things. "I don't like to plan things like that but if it does happen in the moment then I promise that it'll just be you from then on." That was fair enough, wasn't it?

Astoria nodded, though she wasn't sure how to feel. She had all but offered herself to him - that hardly seemed something to be taken lightly. But she wasn't going to retract the offer out loud. Instead, she smiled, running her finger around the rim of her mug again. "I guess we should get going," She said after a minute. They'd been there longer than she had anticipated, despite not having other plans she felt that he would likely have something else he needed to do. "What else did you have planned today?"

Graham felt like he'd said something wrong. He didn't want to plan sleeping with Astoria because he thought it cheapened the act, but something seemed off about her reply. "Not really. I needed to pick up some ink but that's about it."

Another nod was her reply. Not anything all that pressing. "Did you want more tea?" She asked, because she knew she was done, and that he seemed to be as well. "We could walk around Hogsmeade for a while," She suggested loosely.

Graham didn't want anymore tea, another cup would have his stomach feeling slooshy. "A stroll sounds nice." He hailed Madame Puddifoot over with a simple hand gesture watching as she weaved her way through tables and chairs to get to them. After learning how much how owed Graham paid and tipped Madame Puddifoot handsomely. Standing first he went around the table to pull out Astoria's chair for her.

"You didn't have to pay, Graham" Astoria said immediately, as she stood. She didn't want to take his money; she even less wanted to depend on him, especially with the way he was talking just moments ago. Still, she leaned up after standing and kissed his cheek, simultaneously taking his hand, "But thank you."

But he did have to, Graham had been raised to always pay when out with a lady, it wasn't just about flaunting the family wealth, but proper etiquette too. For Graham though, it was about treating Astoria right. "You're welcome." He offered her his arm.

She took his offered arm, smiling up at him again. "To get ink, then?" Astoria asked. She wanted to go back to the castle and regroup her thoughts and her expectations, but she wanted to stay with him, too - she supposed she could wait until later to think about what had just transpired; to decide if she really was ready.

"To get ink." Graham confirmed. He placed his other hand on top of hers leading the way out of Madame Puddifoot's.

As they walked, Astoria chanced a glance up at him, noticing the stubble growing in just under his chin. She'd always found facial hair attractive; rugged, hardworking men seemed to need facial hair, and although she knew Graham was tough, it reminded her again how innately manly he was. It served to make her feel even smaller next to him, but she didn't mind that; she supposed that it was just another way that he would be able to take care of her if he needed to - if they got what they wanted. She still wasn't sure if today's talk was good or bad, but she was glad they had it.
She wanted to reach up and touch that bit of hair; not only to prove it was there but to see how the rough texture would be against her smooth skin. She would love, she decided, to feel it on her neck, insistent and coarse against her soft skin. But she couldn't ask for that, either; it would hardly be appropriate, considering the turn things had taken before. Astoria knew she would fantasize about it, though, even if it wasn't going to happen. She still didn't even know if he counted this as a date!
