Again, his teeth gritted together. He said nothing, though. She wasn't worth the floor he was walking on, anyway. "You're doing a great job convincing me to stay" He called back without even looking, before descending the stairs at the end of the hall.

Anne bit her lip. She was actually going to be stuck up here. She tried thinking of the positives, but there weren't many. There was just a hopeful thought that she had gotten under his skin. Merlin, she hated it up here. And she still had to finish the corridor when she wasn't even 1/5 of the way in.
Anne balled up her fists and stood up hastily. She wasn't going to turn back now. Nor was she ever going to get her dignity back. "Fine," she called out again, hoping he heard her, "fine. I'm sorry, okay, just... I left my wand and I can't see a thing and..." She could have sworn she registered a movement down the darkest part of the corridor. Her fists shook. "I'm sorry. Okay?" She was appalled at the desperation she heard in her voice, she was going to have to talk to Dumbledore about changing her rounds.

Draco did hear her. However, Draco did not care. She had made a mistake, saying the things she had said, and when given a chance to apologize made more rude, snide comments. Draco wasn't one for proving people wrong. No, he would let her think him terrible. She was a terrible Head of school for forgetting her wand, and that was her problem, not his. "Good luck" He shouted back to her, continuing down the steps, about ready to return to his dorm.
