"It's supposed to only take a pound of pressure to cut flesh..." Alicia informed though wasn't sure why she had mentioned that. Maybe it was her way of letting Catherine know that they would need to sharpen their claws on people. Whatever the case Alicia let it trail off. "Anyway Madam Pomfrey will have that healed up for you in a snap. I fractured my tibia, compliments of a Buldger, during last years Slytherin game and I was back on the pitch the next week good as new. A flesh wound will have you out of there within a few seconds."

"I know," Catherine replied, again cooly. "But it doesn't make it hurt any less now." Did she look like an idiot? She knew Madam Pomfrey's capabilities, but the cuts still stung bitterly, and they would until she could get them fixed up.

Maybe Alicia had a higher pain tolerance than Catherine did. With older brothers roughing her up her whole life a couple little scratches weren't a big deal for her, but Alicia didn't comment on this. Catherine did look more along the lines of the delicate type.

And then there was silence. Catherine didn't try to stop it - they were close enough to the common room so that it shouldn't be much of an issue, and quiet in general never really bothered her much. She shoved her hands deeper in her pockets and focused her attention on the stairs, counting the number of flights left until they reached the North Tower. Three...two...one...

They were nearing the North Tower but whenever silence settled in for too long Alicia got uncomfortable, so simply had to slice through it, regardless of whether or not it was trivial. "I'm guessing this latest incident has turned you off to Care of Magical Creatures."

"I've been turned off long before this," Catherine corrected. "But this just reestablished my opinion of the class." She took it because it looked good, since not many people were able to stick with the class all seven years, and since she wasn't exactly sure what she wanted to do with herself yet, it was good to have as many classes as possible.

"Yeah, I was never fond of it either." Alicia informed. For conversation's sake she was far more forth coming without being prompted to be. "Hagrid said that I was too brutish to have a knack for that class, only in kinder terms."

Catherine looked over to scrutinize the girl, trying to see if she was joking or not. "I would hate to cross you, then," she said softly. If Hagrid were to say she was too brutish, then that was really something, unless she was kidding, of course.

Alicia laughed. "Benefits of having older brothers try and bully you all the time. Got to get tough quick, kick some ass to keep from being dog piled, you know?"

"No, I don't," Catherine answered bluntly. "But I can empathize." Although, maybe in a way she could sympathize. She was an only child, so she never had to physically toughen herself up, but she most certainly had to make herself mentally stronger. Her Bible-beating parents shunned her for the past seven years for embracing witchcraft, which left her alone the whole time.

Her brothers had help make Alicia a real peach... not. She flashed Catherine a smile. "I don't mind it though. Keeps me from being pushed around most of the time. Better than being some lame damsel in distress."

"Who needs to follow someone halfway across the castle for hair products," Catherine finished with a small, indifferent nod. She knew she wasn't a strong person, and knew that if anyone tried to physically overpower her, she would be in trouble. She could only hope that anyone who wanted to hurt her would try for a mental approach, because the walls she made were able to beat that. Although, judging by the people at Hogwarts, she doubted it would be that option.

Alicia chuckled reaching up to tighten the tie in her hair, making the ponytail just the slightest bit higher. Probably an action brought on by the mention of hair, which Alicia was pretty much useless with. "Different strokes." She shrugged.

Catherine couldn't answer that, and she didn't try very hard to. They reached the Gryffindor tower, which made polite conversation seem completely worthless.

"Alright you wait here and I'll be back in a wink." Alicia instructed then quietly gave the password to the fat lady. Hurrying inside Alicia dashed up to her dorm, got the product and was back within two minutes time. "Here you go."
