Blaise didn't often spend time alone. That wasn't to say he didn't like to, he just never really did it; there wasn't much to it. Why be alone when he could have a girl wrapped around him? Seemed like a better way to spend time, to him. But tonight he was all alone, just sitting out on the Astronomy Tower, waiting for rounds to end. He was supposed to be patrolling, but he didn't care much about that. He'd rather do nothing in the starlight.

Peeking around a corner, Maia spotted the Prefect girl she'd been trying to avoid all night coming her way. There was nowhere she could go now. Well, nowhere except the Astronomy Tower. She picked her heels up with one hand, tired of trying to walk quietly in them (which was nearly impossible) and with, quick, light foosteps, she ascended the tower.
She couldn't make out who the person at the other end of the room was, but she moved towards him. "I've just seen a Prefect coming down the corridor, and I can't be sure she won't come up here," she called to whoever it was. "Though I suppose one of us could hide and hex her when she gets a far enough distance from the door. That way she won't get a good look at us when we go out..."

"Being a Prefect myself, that hardly seems something to be concerned about" Blaise answered, turning to smirk at Maia. The beauty of her skin in the moonlight wasn't lost on him - nor was the strangely erotic sight of her without shoes on - but he didn't dwell on either. "What are you doing up here?"

Maia didn't know whether to be glad or annoyed at the sight of Blaise. She enjoyed his company, but the badge on his chest now glimmering in the moonlight gave her the urge to stomp off in the opposite direction. Still, Maia never "stomped." And besides, more than anything it just hurt her ego to know she wasn't as good at sneaking around the castle as she thought she was. "Oh, you know, avoiding Prefects..." she replied, with a roll of her eyes, that was both playful and serious at the same time. "But clearly, that is an art I have still yet to master."

"I'm avoiding my rounds, so it seems we're on the same page." Blaise shrugged, looking up at the sky again. "Why are you avoiding prefects?" Because he saw no purpose in being out after curfew; he would much rather be in bed.

Maia took a few more steps towards him. "I happen to not like detention." She followed his gaze to the sky, noting silently just how beautiful the night sky looked tonight. It was no wonder why he avoided rounds to be up here. "I was in a spare classroom on the seventh floor. There's no privacy in the common room, and I need some space every now and then to... well, do what I do." Vague. But there was no reason why he needed to know any details. "It's beautiful up here though." She almost said aloud that she should come here more often, at night, but she didn't think it was a smart thing to say to a Prefect. She still wasn't sure if she could trust him.

"You should join me up here more often - this is where I almost always hide from rounds." Blaise nodded. It was beautiful up here. He didn't like her vague answer, but he was often vague, too, so who was he to complain?

Maia smiled, now beside him. "Yeah, rounds or this? I'd pick this too." It wouldn't be a terribly hard choice, really. Sometimes she did pity Prefects more than she despised them - standing and walking around the castle all night waiting for someone to break the rules never seemed like very much fun. "But don't the other Prefects realize you're missing, at some point?"

"What are they going to say? I didn't see Zabini patrolling. And then Draco, one of my best mates, is going to say 'why would you, he patrols alone.' and everything is going to be fine anyway" Blaise shrugged.

"Well, I just always thought they kept a closer eye on the Prefects, but I guess they don't." Perhaps being Prefect was not as boring as Maia had previously thought it to be... "So, the Astronomy tower, huh? That's nice." Her smile widened slightly. "I don't know many boys able to appreciate the stars."

"Well your first mistake is thinking i"m a boy - I'm all man, Rivas" Blaise smirked, shrugging one shoulder.

For some reason, Blaise's words made Maia laugh. "I'm glad that was a mistake, then - boys are dull," she said, looking over at him. "But then, I have only known you to be a hell of a good time - so that really was just silly, on my part." At the memory of their last encounter, her smile grew into a smirk much like his.

Blaise nodded, because he didn't need the reassurance; he already knew he was amazing. But even so, it was nice of her to agree. "It was, indeed. Is that why you're really up here, looking for a good time?"

"No, I wasn't looking for anything in particular." Maia answered, leaning her side against a near wall. "I was just lucky to find you, I guess."

"Some sort of luck that I definitely like having a part in." Blaise admitted with a small smirk.
