Vegetables. Not Fred's favourite foodgroup, nor an area that Fred was particularly informed in, but Hagrid's vegetable patch was where he needed to be. He was considering flavouring a new sweet for the Skiving Snackboxes with pumpkin, and the vegetable patch was certainly abundant in pumpkins. The only problem was that Hagrid's pumpkins were so big that Fred didn't really know how to approach them - and without him noticing it was missing.

Elle was just passing by, on her way back to the castle after spending some quality alone time by the Black Lake. As she ventured near the vegetable garden however she saw the unmistakable ginger hair of a Weasley. Elle had had the pleasure of meeting George, and from this distance, probably even from a closer distance, she couldn't tell if this particular Weasley was George or Fred. When Elle approached, just to avoid offending, and possibly making a fool of herself by mixing them up, she opted to see if he knew her, if so it must be George. "Hi." She greeted brightly with a smile.

This pumpkin seemed good. It was kind of huge; perhaps he should have brought out some sort of... tools? Pumpkin extracting tools? Did they exist? Inspecting the side for cracks or something, he vaguely registered a greeting.
"Afternoon!" he said brightly, not looking up.

That didn't give Elle much indication as to which twin this was, he hadn't even looked up at her. She bit into her lower lip. He would look up at some point and hopefully then she would be able to tell. "What are you doing?" It seemed a bit nosy even to Elle but she was awfully curious.

Fred gave the pumpkin a tap, then pressed his ear against it, then tapped again. What was he even listening for?
"Do pumpkin extracting tools exist?" he asked, turning to whoever had approached.

"Not that I know of." As far as Elle knew you were just supposed to pick them up. That seemed a bit difficult though considering the massive size of the pumpkins. "Maybe you can shrink it and just pick it up." She suggested.

"Ah," Fred wagged his finger at her. "But he would notice that. Hagrid would. I'd never wish to hurt his feelings as such. Very fond of his veggies, is Hagger - best not to let him know."

"But if you enlarge the two others next to it then it may go unnoticed." Elle wasn't sure if that really was the best idea but it all depended on how he wanted to go about things, so, she suggested what she would do as another option. "Or you can just ask if you can have one."
