Other boys, and even some girls, might have made fun of Kenny for liking the flowerbeds, but he simply didn't care. He found the spot relaxing. It was so colourful, bright and cheerful and those three things were just what Kenny needed as a pick-me-up that day. He'd had a rotten run of bad luck. Starting with someone putting slime in his seat during class and ending with some Slytheirn jerk tripping him in front of a group of pretty Ravenclaw girls.

Rose was a bright, colourful, and cheerful person. She loved the flowerbeds for that reason, too - because they were something that she fit right in with, with her pink hair and her flowery name. She spotted something, as she approached, though, that didn't quite belong. A boy in the Flower beds? "Hey there," She said as she walked up, a little confused but her smile ever present.

Stooping Kenny had helped a caterpillar right itself having fell off a tulip. Something that small, the drop must have been scary. Kenny had a smile on his lips already from the way that the caterpillar tickled his finger when he touched it but it grew at the sound of a chipper girl's voice. He turned to look at her a little shocked by the brilliant pink colour of her hair. "Hello."

His shock was something that Rose was used to; she saw it all the time. "Nice of you to help the caterpillar out," She smiled.

"It just needed a little push, no sense not helping it, right?" Kenny flashed a dorky smile at the girl. He was the type to help out for no other reason than because he could.

"Right" Rose smiled, "That's a good way of doing things" She said as she approached, "I'm Rose"

He thought so too, but there was more and more of a decline in human decency now adays. "Nice to meet you Rose. I'm Kenny."

"And nice to meet you, Kenny. Do you come around here often?" She asked, settling into her favourite spot.

"Often enough. Mostly when I need to be reminded of some of the better things in life." Kenny didn't like to be down when he knew there were plenty of other people out there in that big, wide world that had it worse than him. Some even who made his troubles seem trivial.

Rose nodded, "Flowers are amazing, no? I think it's the colours, myself."

"I don't know, it's one of those places that has everything you imagined, doesn't it? A lake, friends, nature, magic, fun..." Rose shrugged, "I guess I'm a little sentimental, leaving this year."

Magic did give people plenty of options to create their own fun. Kenny didn't see how a person could be bored, with a little imagination, magic could cure any boredom. "Oh, you are? I've still got another year myself, but it can make you nostalgic."
