"How nice to see that chivalry is not dead" Chris laughed, glancing back at him as she stepped out of the greenhouse. He had a very nice smile she thought, before she was distracted by her scarf getting caught on a rather prickly bramble. "Ouch" she withdrew her hand as she pricked herself trying to untangle it. "Why does this always happen? Maybe I should just stop wearing scarfs"

It wasn't dead, no, it was just hiding in a geek. Kenny flashed a content smile, but when Chris' scraf got caught let it die down slightly, though only for a moment. "Because they are awfully stylish?" Kenny offered uncertainly.

"Stylish maybe. But perhaps not worth the trouble. That's the second time this week" Chris muttered, finally untangling it and scratching her hands in the process. Removing the offending article of clothing from her neck, she stuffed it into her book bag before smiling once again. "Have you read Le morte d'arthur?" She asked as she started walking slowly, in an attempt to focus her mind on something other than the Gryffindor boy's smile. She shook her head slightly. It really was most disconcerting.

Kenny only wore scrafs in the harshest of winters, he didn't have the style sensibility to pull off making them look good year-round. "No, I haven't. Has he written anything notable?" He questioned following along at Chris' side.

"Le morte d'arthur was written by Sir Thomas Mallory" Chris said "Although whether or not he was actually a knight is questionable" She smiled again "The tales of king arthur....do you like fantasy? If you do, you'd probably like it" She glanced up at the stars. "No wonder the centaurs are out...not a cloud to be seen"

"Oh yeah. King Arthur, the knights of the round table, Excalibur- its all very fascinating and then there is the association with Merlin, which as a boy I thought was only fairy tale... do you think that this Sir Thomas Mallory was maybe a wizard himself?" Maybe it was something that Kenny could look up himself later. Why hadn't it ever occurred to him before that he might check into the potential non-fiction nature of King Arthur?

Chris nodded "Not just possible, but likely. Its too much of a coincidence otherwise. and even back then, when magic was practiced much more openly in the muggle world, wizards weren't that common" She smiled at him brightly, delighted to have found someone who was interested in the subject. "I've been researching it quite a bit recently...I.." She paused very briefly, remembering that he was a prefect and that she probably shouldn't tell about her midnight forays into the restricted section, however nice he seemed. "I haven't come across anyone else who's seemed interested. Its nice to meet someone who is"

Kenny didn't think anything of the brief hesitation. He wasn't one to naturally suspect people of doing things that they weren't supposed to, probably because he himself was so straight laced. "Well I'm muggleborn and even as a kid this sort of stuff fascinated me. When I found out that I was a wizard..." He trailed off smiling broadly. "I was so excited. It's only natural that I be curious about it, right?"

Chris smiled back. "I can only imagine" She paused for a second, trying to remember the title of a book he'd probably be interested in that she had recently discovered but all she could remember was that it was about the development of a wand as tool for channeling magical power and had been expertly written and researched. "And yes, of course you're curious. I'm pretty curious about the muggle world myself, having been kept pretty much separate from it until I came here" She sighed then smiled again "I sneak off to Hyde park a lot when I'm in London, It's wonderful! All the things they've managed to come up with without magic! Muggle cameras for instance! and electricity!" She stopped, remembering that she was talking to someone who'd grown up in the muggle world and coughed slightly, suddenly feeling little awkward and hoping he wouldn't be offended.

Kenny chuckled at the eagerness that Chris showed toward all things muggle. Electricity was a favourite of his to be honest. It allowed him to play his video games for one thing and flicking a switch was simplier than lighting a fire, plus heating and cooling, those were nice. "Well if you have questions about muggles I could answer them."

Chris smiled "Thank you, I'll take you up on that at some point." Pausing for a moment, she added jokingly"I'd be a bit careful though, I have an awful lot of questions, hopefully you wont get tired of my continual inquiries into the inner workings of computers and the like"

"Not at all. I'll answer what I can and what I don't know for sure we can just speculate over together." Kenny grinned letting out a small chuckle. He didn't have a huge social schedule to contend with and his course work and Prefect duties only took so long, so there was plenty of time to waste going over all things muggle with her.

Chris smiled brightly. "Brilliant. I expect I'll pop up next time you're in the library, list of questions at the ready" She was only half joking. Learning...about anything and everything..was a passion of hers, sort of expected for a Ravenclaw she supposed. They were quite close to the castle now and she veered slightly to the side, trying to stay in shadow as much as possible. "And obviously...If there's anything you want some help with relating to magic I'd be only to glad to return the favor"

"Thanks, that's real nice of you." Kenny beamed a little confused as to why Chris had gone off into the shadows. At first he assumed that she might be embarrassed to be seen with him before he remembered that it was now past curfew thanks to their conversation tying them up. Reaching the oak doors Kenny heaved one open for Chris to step in first.

"Thanks" Chris stepped inside carefully, making sure there was no one else around. Glancing at her watch again she raised an eyebrow slightly when she saw the time. The entrance way was shadowy and silent. "This is when I wish I hadn't read so many Gothic novels and murder mysteries" She joked softly.
