"On occasion, if you have a phobia or something." He agreed. From the way that Chris had been hold her neck Kenny had a feeling that she wouldn't have to worry about that though. "From what I understand, the type of pain that you would be alleviating would all be taken care of out of eye sight."

"That would be preferable I'm sure" Chris nodded, leaning back against the wall, now that the aches had mostly gone. Glancing at her watch she gave a start. "Goodness, We've been here almost half an hour" She stood, brushing the dirt from her skirt and legs and smiled at him "Its a not a habit of yours is it? Sitting in the greenhouses late at night with strange girls?" Her tone was teasing.

Had it really been thirty minutes? Kenny looked around the Greenhouse as though something drastic would have changed inside that would show him that much time had passed but there was nothing. He turned his gaze on Chris watching as she brushed herself off. "Well no actually, I don't. Though I don't find you strange."

Chris gave a soft laugh. "Really? I'm afraid you're the odd one out then. Most people do." Brushing a hand through her hair she frowned for a second as she removed a dried leaf. How had that gotten there? "I suppose it's not entirely unwarranted" She continued "I have a tendency to ask after peoples pets, rather than the people themselves. And then of course theres the fact that my nose is almost always in book. Even more that most other members of my house"

Kenny half smiled, he usually was the odd one out so why should it be any different in this case. "I don't see anything wrong with that, at least not if you ask about the people to." His smile broadened. "I read entirely too much too so I guess we're kindred there."

Chris returned his smile. " Nothing wrong with it in my view either.just...it sometimes leaves people with the impression that you're insane" She remembered the incident with Malfoy at the post office and laughed again "What kind of books do you like?" She asked, always eager to to learn of new authors.

"All kinds." Kenny was more than happy to talk about a subject that he was well schooled in. "I like anything from classic fiction to reading text books." Sometimes he wondered why he hadn't been placed in Ravenclaw. As far as Kenny could tell he didn't have that many Gryffindor traits. Little did he know that he was, in fact, uncommonly brave, he didn't really think about it when he would put himself in bad situations just to help someone out.

"A kindred spirit" Chris replied. "I read just about anything. Except Beatrix Bloxam" She made a face. "I'm too fond of La Folle either" A sudden cool breeze came through the doorway, blowing a few loose curls into her face and she shivered slightly, before brushing them back and looking up at him with a smile "Do you prefer Muggle or Magical fiction?"

Kenny knew who Bloxam was, she wrote children's books in the wizarding world, but as for La Folle, he was drawing a blank. Having grown up a muggle Kenny was partial to muggle literature. He was more acquainted with it and had easier access to them when he wasn't at Hogwarts. "I read more muggle literature than magical, but I like them both."

Chris tilted her head at him in question "You grew up in the muggle world then?" Her eyes were bright with interest. "Coming to Hogwarts must have been a shock then?" She pulled her coat tighter around her, the breeze was turning colder. "Who are some of your favorite author's then? Have you read Austen? Or Emily Dickinson?"

"I did." Kenny confirmed. Chris didn't seem to be annoyed by the fact, actually she had lit up at the idea of it. "It was, but knowing about magic, and even more so practicing it, is amazing and I can't imagine not knowing about it now." Kenny smiled broadly. "I don't have a favorite author. Haven't read any Austen but I have Dickinson."

Chris smiled again. Funny, she seemed to be doing an unusual amount of that tonight. "What do you think of her? I have to say I think I prefer Christina Rosetti and Lord Byron...but she's quite incredible all the same" She noticed a figure walking across the grass in front of the castle. "Perhaps we should get back" She suggested. There was a pause before she laughingly added "Or at least, I should. I don't have your wandering privileges"

"She's a bit morbid, but I find her work rather good nonetheless." He didn't much like to think about that sort of darkness, which Dickinson tended to harp on, but her work was all well written. Kenny directed his gaze to where Chris was looking just managing to catch a glimpse of what she saw. He didn't want to get in trouble by keeping her out later than she should have been, which that time had already come and gone. "That's probably a good idea. To you want me to walk you back in?"

"If it's not too much trouble. Thanks" Chris nodded. Normally she would have been perfectly capable of seeing herself back to the castle but If she was with Kenny, there was less chance she would be given detention if she was caught, and with a Hogsmeade weekend coming up, she didn't want to risk one. There was also the fact that she had enjoyed the Gryffindor prefect's company, a fairly rare occurrence, since Chris didn't really get along well with many people. Mostly because the ones she had grown up with were classist death eaters in training and the ones she'd met after she'd started school thought SHE was a classist death eater in training.

"Oh its not a problem." Kenny assured her, smiling broadly. Chris was a bit quirky it seemed but then so was he, so it worked out nicely. "After you." He suggested sweeping his hand toward the exit.
